Chairperson, 11SPORTS Pvt. Ltd.
At 11SPORTS, the objective has always been to help Table Tennis in India make the transition from being a recreational sport to one that is mainstream. Working closely with the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI), we have put in place a sound structure for Indian Table Tennis that includes extensive grassroots activities and development, all the way up to Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT), which provides our domestic players a great opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the world’s best players and improve their game.
After a successful first season of UTT, the second season promises to be a bigger and better celebration of Table Tennis, especially after our Indian Table Tennis team’s record-breaking show in the recently concluded Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast, Australia followed by solid performances in the World Table Tennis Championships in Halmstad, Sweden. The perception of Table Tennis as a sport is changing and this is the time we need everyone’s goals to be aligned in pushing the boundaries further. Through UTT we want to take the sport of table tennis to greater heights through quality exposure for our Indian players and of course make it popular among the masses as a mainstream sport.
My dream is to see the best Indian talent on the world map of Table Tennis. And the vision is to have an Olympic medal for India in Table Tennis at the 2024 Olympics. And I believe we are well and truly on track to make this dream a reality.
We continue to make progress in this remarkable journey, with the help of all our partners, collaborators and stakeholders who are as excited about this dream as we are. Let us together continue to spur Indian Table Tennis on, making it a force to reckon with the world over.
