After winning their previous ties convincingly, Chennai Lions and Goa Challengers will look to continue the winning momentum tonight at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex, New Delhi.

An experienced Chennai Lions put up an animated show against debutants Puneri Paltan Table Tennis to outplay them with the scoreline of 10-5 in their last encounter. Chennai Lions’ Petrrisa Solja and Sharath Kamal had an incredible outing as they played a major role in their team’s win. The duo displayed some brute force as they white-washed Puneri Paltan Table Tennis’ Harmeet Desai and Sabine Winter in the Mixed Doubles category. Beating Ayhika Mukherjee 3-0 in the Women’s Singles match, Petrissa Solja contributed immensely in handing her side a win.

As we talk about Chennai Lions’ remarkable win, Amalraj-led Goa Challengers had an incredible start to their UTT Season 3 as they knocked the Mavericks out by 11-4. Archana, the current Women’s National Champion put up an incredible show to achieve success over Manika Batra 3-0. To make it more special for the Challengers, their captain Amalraj Anthony along with Cheng I-Ching bagged a 2-1 win in the Mixed Doubles category against RP-SG Mavericks’ Benedikt Duda and Manika Batra, also winning the Men’s Singles match.

Today’s tie will be an interesting one as the two Heavyweights lock horns in Tie 7 of this season. In the women’s singles, it’ll be interesting to see who Archana Kamath faces tonight. Another key battle to watch out for will be Sharath Kamal and Amalraj Anthony who’ll be looking to lead their team to another victory tonight.

With so much quality on both sides, it will all go down to strategy, whether it’s Tiago Apolonia’s wily gameplay along with fierce smashes or Alvaro Robles wizardry with the paddle, or Cheng I-Ching’s athleticism. Who will have their say? We shall find out soon.
